I know, and I *do* love Jacob, but that's part of the skimming. Bella and Edward were pissing me off SO MUCH and I was angry there was even a *suggestion* of a love triangle. And I *like* Jacob a lot, so I didn't *want* a love triangle, because then he'd be hurt.
