I totally stumbled across a scan somewhere wherein Bruce and Clark wanted Tim and Kon to go on a mission for them and while explaining said mission, Kon blurted out "It wasn't our fault!" or "we didn't do it!" and Clark turned to Batman (who was just showing up) and said "you owe me $5." and Bruce said, "already?" and they had made a bet that the boys would assume they had done something wrong.

So, yeah, they would so be doing that.
