Conveniently, one week after Christmas Eve is another holiday! ;)

Cissie woke to the feeling of fingers running through her hair and light kisses pressed to her forehead, temple and nose. "Wake up, sleeping beauty."
She smiled, groggy and half asleep, and snuggled closer to Tim. "Mmm."
Tim pressed his lips to hers and whispered, "Happy New Year, Ciss."
Cissie's eyes flew open and she pulled back to look at the television on the other end of her bedroom at Elias. "What? Did I miss it? You let me sleep through the ball drop?"
Tim pushed her hair back out of her face and smiled sheepishly. "Well. You're adorable when you're sleeping. I couldn't bear to wake you."
Cissie frowned deeply and squinted at her alarm clock. "It's after one!"
He flushed slightly and shrugged a shoulder, using the remote to turn the television off. "It's possible I might have dozed off for a little while, too."
She looked at him for a minute, letting that sink into her sleep-fuzzy brain and then laughed. "Oh, we are pathetic, aren't we?"
Tim smiled and kissed her nose again. "I wouldn't necessarily say pathetic. Just--on really strong painkillers. How's your leg?"
Cissie shrugged. "Okay. I don't think I need any more pills yet." She made a face, realizing how she had fallen asleep on him. "Am I hurting you? What about your ribs, are you hurting?"
He shook his head and pulled her down to lie against him again, helping her settle in comfortably. "I'm fine, Ciss. I'm just sorry we missed the big moment."
"We'll have our own big moment, then." She snuggled close to him happily and shrugged. "I have to say--I hate that you're hurt, and I hate that I still have five weeks of this cast, but... it's really nice, not having to share you with the rest of the Titans this weekend. Especially tonight." Cissie lifted her head to smile at him. "Happy New Year, Tim."
"It is nice," he agreed, returning the smile. He leaned in and gave her a deep, sound kiss. "Happy New Year, Cissie. I love you."
"I love you too," she whispered, and curled back up against him, closing her eyes and letting his heartbeat and the rise and fall of his chest lull her back to sleep.
