Snow, anyone? (This icon is my only snowy icon.)

So, we have a New Year's Nor'Easter. I would call it the Blizzard of 2010, if it was later than January 3, and we were not known to get giant freaking blizzards all the way into April. In any case, it has not stopped snowing since Friday morning (and it snowed a few inches Thursday, but there was a brief lull between Thursday and Friday's snow, so it "doesn't count"). It is not expected to stop snowing until THE END OF TIME. (You think I'm exaggerating. I do live in Maine.)

One thing that can be said for this storm is that is has been a slow and steady storm, and all snow, so while it has snowed for DAYS and DAYS and WILL NEVER END, we have about a foot of snow to show for it and a lot of drifting thanks to heavy winds, but no ice and no slush and it's been gradual.

Also, my brother did the shoveling and snowblowing. Small miracles.

(Also, because I've been sick, I did not go outside to take pictures. Because I didn't want to.)

First, the backyard:

If you look closely, you can see where my brother had a little too much fun with the snowblower and made a path to the shed and apparently the bulkhead to the basement. We don't know why he did that.

It's hard to see, but it is still snowing in these pictures. These were taken at noon, btw. It was just that dark.

And now the front yard. It is almost 4 hours later now, and another inch or so of snow on top of what is in these pictures:

The front deck, my ridiculously tall brother (he is 6'4", for reference) and our Christmas lights. With icicles.

We know now why people put those wooden stands over their bushes. Though this one, in front of the living room window, has never been the same since one of our ice storms. It crumples under pressure.

See?

I just really like this shot.

So, yes. Still dark. Still snowing. Never. Ending.

I am feeling better today though. Even if we're all getting cabin fever and stepping on each other's last nerves. But we have not lost power!! Here's crossing our fingers.

I'd lend you some West Coast rain but I have a feeling that'll make it worse.

SNOWWWWW. *_* I loves it.

I am also in love with your star lights! They are pretty much the best Christmas decorations ever. Where did you get them?
