Cissie pulled her knees up, wrapping her arms around them. She was glad for her pants, but wished her shirt wasn't so short. It was freezing and she could have used the extra coverage. "No luck?"
Tim shook his head, frowning at the wood he was trying to light. "The wood's too wet. It won't light." He sighed and got up, coming to sit beside her. He put an arm around her shoulders and she leaned into him, resting her head on his shoulder. He rubbed her arm lightly to warm her. "It's times like this I wish I had a cape."
She laughed a little and poked his side. "Do you often find yourself stuck in a cave during a snowstorm with girls?"
He paused, looking thoughtful. "Well..." She elbowed him and he laughed, turning his head to kiss her hair. "Not with girls I want to share body heat with?"
"Thank you. I try." Tim pulled her closer and then removed the elastic from her hair, freeing it from its ponytail. He combed his fingers through it, smoothing it over her back. "That might help."
"Thank you." She put her arms around him and snuggled against him. If she had to be stranded in a cave, being stranded with her boyfriend was definitely the way to go. She turned her head and gave him a soft kiss.
They kissed, huddled in the quiet darkness for a while, and when they broke apart, Tim pulled her with him when he moved to lie down. "Ciss?"
"Hmm?"
"...How dead am I when your dad finds out about this?"
She was quiet for a long moment. "I'll protect you."

"Hmm." Cissie smiled despite herself. "Good answer."

"Right. I'm a dead man."
