"I spend so much time obsessing, it's depressing...."

Everyone should go join [livejournal.com profile] everyfiveyears right now and claim some characters. Because it looks like it'll be fun!

I've claimed Cedric Diggory, which makes me happy, because I'll finally have to write something with him in it. ;)

And the premise is great... a fic set every 5 years of a character's life. I already know what I'll do for my last one... or have an idea, anyway. ;)

Also, weeee!!!! My icon won 1st place at [livejournal.com profile] theatreicontest!!

See! (I'm actually quite proud of this one, and I've been dying to show it off...)

So, I'm happy. Except it's been a fairly crappy day/night in Real Life. But what does Real Life matter? =P

My world film class was cancelled! Yippee!! I can watch LOST now!

I've GOT to quit reading the [livejournal.com profile] huff100 friends page. I can never resist places like [livejournal.com profile] everyfiveyears!!!!

Can I also recommend [livejournal.com profile] 30_hath? You don't have to take a certain character or pairing but the prompts are really good and they help with stories for this type of community as well!

I can't wait to see what you write for Cedric. Pity you have to stop so early... *wipes away tear*

::laughs:: Signing up, then? ;)

And I should check that out, thanks...

Yes, poor Cedric. I love him. Loved him *before* everyone and their monkey's uncle started fangirling him, even! ;) Hee... (not that I mind a bit of Cedric!love, because I think he's underrated, but I think movie!Cedric and book!Cedric have some distinct differences and I love my book!Cedric...) =P

Yes, book!Cedric is heads and shoulders better than movie!Cedric.

I'm still thinking about what character I'll take. I might take a couple from my other fandoms just for some variety. Thanks for the shout out to the community, though! Between those and the graph communities, I may never stop writing...

::laughs:: I suppose there are worse ways to spend your life... ;)

And oh!! Yay! Another book!Cedric fan! =D

I meant for 2006 to be a big reading year. I'm only averaging about 2 a week and that's because I went through a stretch where I was reading YA fantasy to get a feel for the genre. Gotta love the little books!

Actually, I'm just a Cedric fan. I'll take him anywhere, anytime with just about anyone. I don't know why I like him so much. He's only in one book and then he dies *growls at JKR for not giving us more time with him* but he is just such a great character. He makes me want to be a better person! *grins*

Books are terrific. Decidedly no longer a young adult, but I adore the books. ;) Ah well! (Have you read East by Edith Pattou? VERY good...)

and as far as Cedric goes, when I first saw GoF, I wrote this incredibly rambly and off-the-top-of-my-head post about why I love him and how important he is, and... well. If I thought it, I wrote it.

If you're interested... =P

I loved East! I'm not a young adult either but I never read any fantasy when I was so I'm trying to make up for lost time now that I seem to be writing in that direction.

Thanks for the link! I'll definitely visit and read!

Oo, yay! Finally someone who's read East! =D I adore YA fantasy. Have haunted that section since I was twelve, and I somehow never broke the habit of going there... somehow I like YA fantasy better than adult fantasy. But that could be a case of judging books by their covers, because so many adult fantasy books look like romance novels. ;) Hehe. (Actually, there are exceptions to every rule. And I will always find a book I love.)

Friending you, btw, if you don't mind. Seems we have a bit in common. :)

Yes! I love to be friended by people who I share so many thoughts in common! If you don't want to see my ever-growing collection of fanfic, you can friend my RL journal as well... [livejournal.com profile] larinzia. I separated the two worlds when I started getting "obsessed" about HP more than my RL friends like to have to follow. *grins*

I was a mystery girl before this. I've done my share of reading the horrid romances and the cheesy westerns. YA fantasy, I have to say, ranks right up there with the best. One of my favorite authors, right now, is Holly Black. I'd never read faeries written that "gritty" before. It mesmerized me!

[identity profile] lady-sarai.livejournal.com 2006-02-19 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
I'll friend both... I never turn away from good fanfic! =D (And I understand separating the two... I have exactly 2 RL friends who know of this LJ and they're as obsessive as I am. So it's okay.)

I haven't read much Holly Black, but I've been curious. I'd have to say, besides JK Rowling, I ADORE Robin McKinley. OMG, so much. She's *fantastic* and I have a weakness for retold fairy tales, which she seems to specialize in. And if you haven't read Tamora Pierce or the His Dark Materials trilogy (Golden Compass, et al), you MUST.

(Sorry. I'm an elementary ed major, with a concentration in literature. And I adore YA books... just right for the age level I hope to teach!)

Robin McKinley is one of my new friends thanks to my friend who also adores her!

I WANT TO BE ONE OF TAMORA PIERCE'S CHARACTERS! Seriously. I love them all. Well, all I've read of them. I've only read a couple of the sets so I need to continue that.

I read the first of the Dark Marks trilogy and then sat it down... and haven't completed the other two. I have them on my shelf... staring at me.

I love talking books! Always a good thing!
