Everyone should go join [livejournal.com profile] everyfiveyears right now and claim some characters. Because it looks like it'll be fun!

I've claimed Cedric Diggory, which makes me happy, because I'll finally have to write something with him in it. ;)

And the premise is great... a fic set every 5 years of a character's life. I already know what I'll do for my last one... or have an idea, anyway. ;)

Also, weeee!!!! My icon won 1st place at [livejournal.com profile] theatreicontest!!

See! (I'm actually quite proud of this one, and I've been dying to show it off...)

So, I'm happy. Except it's been a fairly crappy day/night in Real Life. But what does Real Life matter? =P

My world film class was cancelled! Yippee!! I can watch LOST now!

Oo, yay! Finally someone who's read East! =D I adore YA fantasy. Have haunted that section since I was twelve, and I somehow never broke the habit of going there... somehow I like YA fantasy better than adult fantasy. But that could be a case of judging books by their covers, because so many adult fantasy books look like romance novels. ;) Hehe. (Actually, there are exceptions to every rule. And I will always find a book I love.)

Friending you, btw, if you don't mind. Seems we have a bit in common. :)

Yes! I love to be friended by people who I share so many thoughts in common! If you don't want to see my ever-growing collection of fanfic, you can friend my RL journal as well... [livejournal.com profile] larinzia. I separated the two worlds when I started getting "obsessed" about HP more than my RL friends like to have to follow. *grins*

I was a mystery girl before this. I've done my share of reading the horrid romances and the cheesy westerns. YA fantasy, I have to say, ranks right up there with the best. One of my favorite authors, right now, is Holly Black. I'd never read faeries written that "gritty" before. It mesmerized me!

I'll friend both... I never turn away from good fanfic! =D (And I understand separating the two... I have exactly 2 RL friends who know of this LJ and they're as obsessive as I am. So it's okay.)

I haven't read much Holly Black, but I've been curious. I'd have to say, besides JK Rowling, I ADORE Robin McKinley. OMG, so much. She's *fantastic* and I have a weakness for retold fairy tales, which she seems to specialize in. And if you haven't read Tamora Pierce or the His Dark Materials trilogy (Golden Compass, et al), you MUST.

(Sorry. I'm an elementary ed major, with a concentration in literature. And I adore YA books... just right for the age level I hope to teach!)

Robin McKinley is one of my new friends thanks to my friend who also adores her!

I WANT TO BE ONE OF TAMORA PIERCE'S CHARACTERS! Seriously. I love them all. Well, all I've read of them. I've only read a couple of the sets so I need to continue that.

I read the first of the Dark Marks trilogy and then sat it down... and haven't completed the other two. I have them on my shelf... staring at me.

I love talking books! Always a good thing!
