I'm all aflutter and flaily. (Yes, it's a word, shut up.) =D [livejournal.com profile] yuletide is making for much glee. Everything is SO well-written and lovely!

And I'm literally going mad trying to not respond to the comments I've gotten on my fic and seeing the response it's getting. I have joy. Also, seeing the fic written for me get recced is VERY exciting. Almost as exciting as seeing the fic *I* wrote get recced. ::bounces on hands::

I'm not good at this anonymous thing, but I'm doing very well, I think.

There is a fabulous Superman Returns fic, Interview Skills, featuring Superman and Richard White, and it makes Bruce Wayne a classmate of Richard's in college. According to Batman Begins, that would be Princeton.

And I am utterly in love with the idea of those two being more than just passing aquaintances, but roommates. [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce should write something about this, as she mentioned it earlier and I will be a nag if I have to. ;) But... yeah, apparently I have a bunny. Of the plot variety.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan is doing a lovely job beckoning me to the dark side.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: I, my dear, am going to a very special kind of Hell.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: oh?

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: whyso?

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Because not only do I think that Richard White and Bruce Wayne would be perfect as college roommates for the semester or year Bruce attended Princeton, but I have this rather insane notion that they would have made a rather screwed up but good couple.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: And no good could come of it, and it would End when Bruce left, but still.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: Leaving an emotionally damaged Richard behind...

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: And you understand that slashing two characters simply because they are male and friends is NOT my first instinct under normal circumstances.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: I know this

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Hmm. O_O Perhaps it leaves behind a Richard who SETTLES in his love affairs.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: oh! ::flaily:: Even when he knows the woman he loves is in love with someone else.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: O_O

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: (However, I am insanely fond of the idea of Bruce and Richard staying in touch--or getting in touch years later, and possibly being friends, in a strange way.)

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: I smell a plot bunny...

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Dear god, am I creating a crossover?

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: you are.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ::headdesk::

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: and now you must write it.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: GUH!

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: I am so going to copy this and post it in my LJ.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: ::prods::

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: I should write my Helga/Salazar saga in January. But.....

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: oh.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Bruce/Richard is just sort of highly appealing and eating my brain.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: It's best when the idea comes to you close to the thing--you aren't all that invested in it yet, and you don't feel like you need to "take time to write it properly"

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: and when have I EVER felt the urge to slash characters?

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Mind you, I also don't think either male is gay. I think Bruce doesn't care, and Richard is attracted to Bruce. (And later Clark. Ahem.)

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Bruce is so goddamned screwed up when he's in college.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: this is true.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: And Richard is the kind of guy who won't turn the car on until his seatbelt is buckled.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: (in college, that is)

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: absolutely

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ...I rather like the idea of Richard knowing who both Superman AND Batman really are; or rather, who their alter egos are. And I think he would care about them as Clark and Bruce, more than the other way around.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: I agree.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: (It's possible I'm turning Richard White into some personal Perfect Character, but maybe that doesn't matter. ;-))

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: but the thing with Superman is that he's not "Clark Kent masquerading as Superman," it's the other way around. Not so with Bruce Wayne/Batman

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: if that means anything, which likely, it does not

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: exactly. But he knew him before he had Batman, when the Bruce/Batman dichotomy was blurred.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: yes.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: It was not a *happy* affair, certainly.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: ::snorts::

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: Honestly, I very much doubt that anything
about Bruce Wayne can be considered happy.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: It's true.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Bruce is Screwed. Up.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: He returns from college with a DEFINITE plan to kill a man. This does not lead to hugs and puppies.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: no.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: I think Bruce gave up. I can see him completely not caring at ALL about his academics, and winding up on Academic Probation before being kicked out.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: which would drive Richard insane.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: yes.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: It would.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: because Richard's attitude would be "Well why fucking bother, Bruce?"

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Exactly!

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: And Bruce's attitude is "Well, WHY fucking bother?"

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: Oh. ::smooshes them:: Oh, boys.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: This pairing is CRACK but I'm kind of loving it madly.

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: Richard is floored at his response.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ::flails in flaily love::

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: It is a weird crack Pairing--I demand you write it for your January Nano.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: And Bruce would be utterly calm about the whole thing.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ::sigh::

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: ::hypnotizes you with voodoo charms::

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: O_O ::has something of a revelation, mostly unrelated to our current line of thought:: ...maybe... part of why Bruce gave up and left was that he started to love Richard, or recognized that, and gave in to his instincts and when Richard wouldn't be pushed away, he ran away back to Gotham. The trial was convenient; also, a good distraction.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: because Bruce shoves everyone away so he won't lose them. Except maybe Alfred, who he pushes but is rather like superglue. ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: ::shakes with joy at your plot thought::

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: This is so totally different and new for me, this whole idea.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ::is bouncy::

[livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan: hehe

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: and GUH, Richard. Left behind, and then he hears that Bruce has disappeared, and then he's gone for SEVEN YEARS and is even declared dead! And then Bruce comes back! And guh.

[livejournal.com profile] lady_sarai: ::has no idea what to do with all this::

(LJ-ify your IMs before pasting!)

Oh, plot bunnies. You and a glass of wine do not mix. (Or rather, you DO, too well for my own good.)

...I need an icon for this utter crack crossover pairing of DOOOM.

They're so messed up, it hurts, but I LOVE it. (Particularly the scene [livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan and I just worked our way through! GUH!!!)

And now, I am so going to bed it isn't funny. And you know, wine? Goes straight to my head. Hello, lala-land.
