5 Things that Never Happened...

Well, someone asked for examples of the "Five Things that Never Happened to..." fic format, so I found some. :)

And there are a zillion others. I know "Wicked" would make a GREAT "Five Things" fic... so would a lot of fandoms, really... But I'm going to bed now. :)



And this isn't really the format, or anything, but it's really good. X-Men fic, The Closer I'm Bound, five vignettes centered on Scott Summers, and does a great job with his relationship with Erik Lensherr... I love this one.



So, yes, still begging for ideas and input. ;) Suggest something, I might write it.

Okay, this story is FOREVER long, but it's quite good.

Anyone who likes Star Wars, and Obi-Wan, and Luke... read it. Now.

The basic premise is that Vader somehow raised Luke until about age 5, when Obi-Wan discovered him... and took him from his father, and raised him himself. It's... really great. I like it. The battle scenes are... battle scenes. They're good... but you know, not my thing. But it's great, and the characterizations are very good. It's also quite long. But good.

Okay, bit of an edit: My brother made me get offline before I had actually *finished* it, but I read it offline... after posting this rec.

I still rec it. Very much, if only because I love seeing Obi-Wan as a father-figure, and Luke, who almost borders on *too* good, DOES flirt with the Dark Side...

And the final confrontation with Palpatine is really a fun read, but the confrontation with Vader... eh. It might be that I've become more attached to Anakin than I'd like to admit, but I really like the whole redemption thing. Although the reason as to why Vader can't be redeemed is actually a very good one.

The only eye-rolling thing I found is that it does, in the VERY end, become something of a romance between Obi-Wan and this OC. It develops in a way that really doesn't annoy me, and I'm not irked by it, and I was impressed with that, because usually there is much eye-rolling with this... but then, the epilogue.

Erg, the epilogue was annoying. You have my permission to read it and roll your eyes, or to skip it. To me, the important part of this story is Obi-Wan and his relationship with Luke, and the rest of the fic does a good job with that.
