OMG YAY INTERNETS!
Apr. 26th, 2007 01:36 pmOMG.
THE INTERNET WORKS.
It's like a MIRACLE.
They finally turned the cable on last night, around 5 pm, and the TVs worked, but not the phone or internet. I kicked some things and possibly swore like a sailor when the tech support people said they needed someone home today so someone could come, at some unspecified time.
Witness me up at 7 am today.
Guy showed up at 11, and did not leave until about 1 pm. If this tells us anything.
Turns out our phone won't work for between 2 to 5 days, but he gave us a new and improved modem and spent half an hour trying to convince my laptop it existed and was transmitting a signal.
And then he discovered there was an intermittent signal leak--to which I go WHAT?!--and he spent another hour trying to figure out what that was, but he replaced the main line outside--the one they replaced a week ago--and then disconnected something in the basement and voila, all works.
>_<
He said we could call and get a credit on our account, or he could ask them to give us one, and I said that two weeks ago, I would have called myself, but now I have an aversion to calling the cable company and he laughed and did it for me.
And here I am STILL with the anxiety. BUT INTERNETS, YAY!!!!
I have insane joy.
And now must work on job applications.
