lady_sarai: (Bart can kill you with his *brain.*)
Oh, flist, I loves you--but I am too tired to go through you right now. (This is what I get for having [livejournal.com profile] yuletide show up--I could try the filters but... am lazy at the moment.

Let's just say that skip=150 is too much to sift through tonight. Be patient with me?

Went down to [livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan's on Wednesday morning, and we went into Cambridge to visit [livejournal.com profile] aradiachiba and went into Boston, where we got to watch the figure skaters and go to So Good and have lots of fun! :) Even if I *did* wind up with a lapful of Diet Pepsi during dinner. ;)

Then Thursday night [livejournal.com profile] zoe_chan and her husband and I saw The Golden Compass--FINALLY--and OMGAWESOME!!! I'm happy I hadn't read the book recently, although as soon as I find it, am rereading. But I loved it. It was as awesome and creepy and disturbing and wonderful and *cool* as it should have been. Also, Pan, Lee Scoresby and Iorek FTW. Seriously.

(Of course, Sam Elliot sounds remarkably like my father--well, but Dad didn't have a southern accent--so I could listen to him talk all the damn time. And--usually--he even has a mustache like Dad. I love him, in an entirely different way than my mother--THANK GOD. This makes me feel comfortable in saying that I don't have therapy-requiring-Daddy-issues. But in the end, I'm just saying that I adore the man. So much. And he's perfect here.)

Also, I got the new Eagles cd for Christmas--Long Road Out of Eden--which I guess you can only buy from Walmart, weirdly. I love this band. It is made of win.

Is that all I have to say? Probably. Bedtime for me.

Oh, wait, one more thing: ZOMG PATS GAME TOMORROW AND THEY ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO AIR IT IN MAINE OMGWTFBBQYAAAAAAAAY!!!!

They weren't going to--this was apparently decided in the two days I've been away. Time Warner Cable doesn't broadcast the NFL channel, which is airing the game, and Time Warner has a huge monopoly in Maine--only cable company in most parts of the state. And NFL wouldn't let them air it any other way, but somehow (I know not the details) a compromise has been reached and it will air on NBC *and* CBS tomorrow. This means the sports bars are Very Sad, but everyone else in Maine is ecstatic.

So we know what *I* will be up to tomorrow.

Oh, and another thing--I was surprised to find there are no Sarah, Plain and Tall fics in [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, even for past years. Huh. (We watched the first two movies tonight; Mom got the trilogy on DVD for Christmas.)

NOW it is bedtime.
lady_sarai: (Tom Brady)
GO PATRIOTS!!!!

I am a happy, happy football fangirl right now. Oh. My. God.

WHAT A SEASON. OH BRADY BUNCH, I LOVE YOU!

So--16-0, a PERFECT SEASON for the first time since the Dolphins in 72 (and they were 12-0). And Tom Brady and Randy Moss both broke NFL season records and the team broke the scoring record for the season and OMG I don't know what to do with myself, I love my team!

::falls over::

But good lord, boys, did you HAVE to make it such a nail-biting game?!

But you know, the fact that we were behind for most of the game kind of made me perversely feel reassured--we are nothing if not good at the come from behinds!

Now, I need some wine. (Mind you, I *had* wine. I also had nails and nerves when the game started.)

Now, I have to say a little bit about the simulcasting.

Why the simulcast made us so gleeful. )

But in the end--THAT WAS A FREAKING AWESOME GAME AND I HAVE GLEE! YAY FOR MY TEAM!

*note: I am not, have never been, will never be a Fair Weather Fan. This is the frustration of having a good season. For all of my childhood, the Pats pretty much sucked and still I loved them. I am just saying.
