A *what* storm now??
Dec. 11th, 2008 06:04 pmSo, apparently we are in the midst of an ICE STORM.
>_< We were first supposed to get snow, then a sleetish mix, and now it's *ice.* They are talking about half an inch to AN INCH of ICE accumulated overnight.
If I disappear for a few days, that's why. (I really don't want this.)
During Ice Storm '98 (which is all ANYONE is talking about on the news tonight. Anytime ice is mentioned, it comes up and there is panic.), we lost power for four or five days but could stay at my grandmother's, where there was power. Not an option now.
That ice storm is also famous for the sleepover where
zoe_chan,
aradiachiba and I ate two dozen pears and drank 24 cans of Diet Pepsi.
...In our defense, we were 14 and 13? And this is also no longer an option, woe! (Well, we can have sleepovers, but they take more planning these days.)
ANYWAY--here is hoping that this is the usual "OMG ICE" panic that has happened every year since January 1998.
Also, my brother drives tractor trailer trucks and he is driving tonight up to Bangor and back--good thoughts his way wouldn't hurt, since he was just telling me this afternoon (when we thought it would be a mix, not ice) that ice is the worst thing to drive through.
Argh, damn it.
