Picspam! New floors and KITTIES!

Oh, it's been a *long* weekend and today was long, too. =P We had the linoleum replaced with tile in the bathrooms, and it's *beautiful.* I inflict picspams on you, but I also give kitty pictures to make it better. ;)

Using Cary Grant icon as we watched The Bishop's Wife tonight and it might be the best Christmas movie ever. I loves it.

In this pic, you can see the linoleum lifting a bit by the shower:

The downstairs bathroom, before (where you can really see how bad the linoleum was--the tile guy said the glue had completely dried up and it wasn't even glued down anymore):

I have no idea why the floor looks yellowed. Huh.

And now, kitties! In my bed again. I think they like the down comforter.

And Mom has her office holiday party Wednesday, so she tried to get her gift bags ready.

Yeah. That went well:

Mo is helping. Chip wants the spot in front of the space heater.

And by helping, I mean choosing the worst spot for a bath.

In other news, no one played in my meme yet and I have only 3 holiday fic requests. I will write you something if you request it! I promise!! :)

Heh. Looks like you all did the same thing I'm doing. Titled the back bathroom (and re-did the whole shower) last summer. Plan to have the guy/company back to tile the front bathroom this summer -- replacing linoleum in both cases. Looks SO much nicer! It's amazing how such a relatively small thing can increase the value.

And such pretty, soft-looking kitties! Mine like my heated blanket. (G)

IT *is* amazing what a difference it makes--we *love* the tile so much. It's kind of a hassle, but worth it. When they built the house, the contractors cut a lot of corners (without our knowledge) and we're paying for it now--the linoleum was lifting up a lot, and in the kitchen the seams are separating and it's even broken where we've tripped on it--we keep carpets over those spots. When we eventually replace that (this summer, probably, it would be impossible in winter), we'll go with the same guy--he was so nice and did a great job.

And thank you! Kitties are wonderful--ours are in love with the electric space heater. :)

*squeals at pretty kitties!* Is Mo a Maine coon? He looks so fluffy and soft, and so BIG!
Oh, and the bathrooms look great, too!

::laughs:: Thanks about the bathrooms! We are very happy with them!!

Mo is actually a munchkin. He's got these itsy-bitsy legs (kind of like a dachsund) and he's a little bow-legged, too. My college roommate's mother bred them and Mo was born with severe scoliosis--his upper chest is deformed and his spine is very crooked, so they couldn't keep him and offered him to us. At the time, he seemed to be having breathing problems, but it turned out to be that when he ate dry food, it got stuck and choked him--so they thought he wasn't going to make it and gave us Chip, too--he was from the same litter, but born with long legs instead of short. (It's really funny, they have the same kind of spiral pattern on their sides and their eyes are the same color but people always assume they aren't even related.) No one thought Mo would live to be more than a year old. We switched Mo to wet food and in one month he tripled in weight--now he's 10 pounds and over 2 years old and according to our vet, healthy as can be!

This pic is a pretty good comparison of their legs, and this one is slightly better at showing how short Mo's are.

Which is a really long-winded way of saying that yes, Mo is very fluffy and soft and we think he's actually a dog pretending to be a cat, because he's an attention whore. ;)

I have no cat icon. This seems wrong.
