Home again! Had an absolutely fantastic, amazing, wonderful time with
zoe_chan. Even if she forced me to watch pre-selected episodes of
Smallville.
Damn it, I don't hate Lex. ;) We have been worrying about the weather, because June basically had rain all day every day. BUT--we went to Six Flags on Tuesday and it was the most GORGEOUS DAY. Totally beautiful! Sunshine-y and hoooooooot. We drank a loooot of water, and used sunscreen! We needed it! And it really wasn't too crowded or busy.
...Also we ran into a friend from high school, which was bizarre. (I say high school, but I was in kindergarten and first grade with her too, sooo it's a bit further than that.) Adding to the weirdness there, she's been living in England for a few years. SMALL WORLD.
Anyway--
we may have taken pictures. They might be insanely awesome. And it might just be that we made the people who were dressed as Batman and Green Lantern very happy, because they were almost more excited about our picture taking than we were. We definitely filled out a positive comment card. And by "we" I mean Zoe. ;)
So tooons of fun was had. So much fun that we are both still tired two days later. And I wound up with terrible, horrible, no good, very bad blisters on the balls of my feet. RIGHT where you HAVE to put pressure to walk. I mean, they're massive. I did wind up poking and draining them last night, and that helped today but I'm still limping. And because of how painful it is to walk normally, I've been walking weirdly and it's making my ankles and shins hurt now. Sigh. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, though. I'm walking like an old lady, it's ridiculous. (...Keeping in mind that my 88-year-old grandmother never had to walk like this... :P)
In other news, tomorrow (today, huh) would have been my grandfather's 95th birthday. Which is kind of insane. 95. Wow. Bapap, I miss you. Has it really been seven years now? WOW. It also would have been my grandparents' 62nd wedding anniversary. (Yes, they were married on his birthday. My grandmother's advice to me was always "don't get married on a birthday." ;) Poor Moomoo.
(Yes, that's what I called her. Mormor is Norwegian for mother's mother, and I could not say my "r"s.)) We are making lobster rolls and having macaroni salad to celebrate.
Aaaaand, I have nothing else to say except to
go look at the awesome, awesome Six Flags pictures we took! The Flash came with us! You know you want to see!
Oh, and have a meme:
