Well, fine then.
Mar. 9th, 2006 12:10 amFrustrated by a few things tonight.
1-My headache, which is growing into a possible migraine. Like the one that woke me at 2:30 am last night and kept me awake for over an hour. THAT was fun. I look forward to repeating that.
2-My film class professor LOSING my last 2 papers and insisting that it must be because I did not turn them in. OMGWTFBBQ. And because I've never had her, and she didn't know my name, and didn't BELIEVE I was me (our photos on the rosters were taken freshman year. Gosh, people CHANGE in 4 years?)... Irked. But I have them and will hand them to her and say "BLARGH!!!" But not really.
3-Steph. And Tina. And Mom. And the weather. Because I am sick, Mom mentioned the other night that I should come home on Thursday afternoon, so I can be at home and be taken care of and she would make me tea and I can see my kittens and this is SO tempting when you are sick. Plus, Mom totally *wants* me home. This I know. So I mention this idea to Steph, who says "don't GO! Stay here with meeeeee!" Just like that. She says "we'll have a quiet roommate night! We'll watch Rent!" >.< Then Tina says "No! Don't go! Stay here, we want you to stay!" Well, THANK YOU girls, for supporting the decision I HAVEN'T MADE YET. Nevermind that I feel like crap. Although less crappy tonight, thank GOD. And then today, Mom says "well, watch the weather, it looks icky." And sure enough! Snow/rain mix! Starting around 3! >.< When I have class until 2. And I don't know how I feel about this.
No, I do. Completely and utterly TORN. Because I don't want to upset Mom OR my friends, and either decision I make will upset someone. And Steph, dammit, is not ALLOWED to say "I didn't really mean it, I'm sorry for pressuring you. You should do what you want." Mom does this all the time. Do you THINK I don't know what the real meaning of that is? It's OMGDOWHATIWANTYOUTODO!!!! >.< Maybe I should just go to Mass and see Theanna instead. (And pleasepleaseplease know I'm joking, babe, as much as I would love to. Cause I might cry, in this mood.) Argh. Seriously, people.
I don't even know what I want to do, but it annoys me that I might not GET the choice, thanks to the weather. Is that rational? No.
4-
minisinoo posted some Harry Potter thoughts on Ron/Hermione, and Harry/Hermione. And she seems to ship H/Hr. Which... no. Sorry. And I read most of the comments, but I don't see her changing her mind, or anyone really arguing it much. And I am feeling immensely sorry for Ron now.
I love Ron. I want to cuddle him now.
5- My fandom sucks and lies in burning wreckage. Poor, poor Rent.
Yeah, so.
Also, a question:
How much do you think perception of the whole Ron/Hermione/Harry triangle is/was affected by the movies?
I mean, people who read a good portion of the books before seeing the movies, do they ship one way and people who saw the movies first, or soon after reading just a few, do they ship another?
And the constant reference of HP as "children's" books in a certain tone... REALLY bothers me. Partly because I hope to WRITE "children's" (young adult, really) books. And because I've taken a course in this, and I KNOW a bias and prejudice exists against them in the publishing industry.
So, I enter TWO professions that face bias and are looked down upon by some. Teaching and children's books.
(Granted, they are marketed as children's books. But I have a former professor who made us spend Hermione-ish hours in the library looking up obscure things that were IN book 1; in fact, I doubt JKR spent as much time analyzing how many letters are in "Privet Drive" as we did. But that's beside the point. There's a reason these books appeal to so many people of so many ages.
And I TOTALLY ship Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione and I even yelled at LeeAnn in high school for suggesting Harry/Hermione. I DID. And this was PRE-OotP. Dude. That's right, I'm Old School. I even had to WAIT for PoA.)
ARGH.
And I have a HEADACHE that HURTS! ::whines::
On an upnote, I downloaded some very nice music. Anthony Rapp singing "Losing My Religion" at a book signing and Chris Daughtry's version of "Hemmorage" from last week's American Idol. Cause, you know what? I think I love him, bald-headed rocker he is.
