Odds and Ends
Mar. 19th, 2008 12:00 amThank you, my f-list, for the hugs! ♥ I am feeling somewhat better tonight, having gone to bed and slept for six hours. The issue now is that I am awake. Oops.
Here's hoping for no snow delay tomorrow morning, because that means a full day of school rather than an early release and teacher workshop time. (Even though we have a speaker who will last until 4:30, which is an hour longer than we have to stay on a normal day.)
Also, it is my class's Reward Day tomorrow morning and if that gets canceled there will be a mutiny. I knew teaching them that word when we talked about Columbus would be a bad idea.
Anyway, really--American Idol. Why two hours? It's all commercials and Ryan Seacrest and his make-up. >_<
Also, how can you want to have a music career and not know any Beatles songs?! How do you live your life without knowing a Beatles song?! And why on EARTH would you ever ADMIT it?!
Seriously, when I heard "I picked this song because of the title, I heard it for the first time today"--talking about You've Got to Hide Your Love Away? Which is one of my favorites, mind you, I loves it. But seriously. Come on.
Admitting that you don't know the Beatles is sort of guaranteed to make you look silly. Especially if you are trying to break into the music business.
Also, am sad because my paid account expires in 3 days, but I can't renew it because my bank cancelled my debit card so they can replace it, thanks to the Hannaford hoopla. Damn it, a security breach at the GROCERY STORE. >_< Thanks, Hannaford. Now I have to wait for a new debit card. Bah. (But at least nothing seems to be amiss, thank goodness.)
