Holiday Fic Exchange Poll!

So! I am among the poor fools who have not been receiving comment notifications since The Great Server Move. ::sigh:: I am hoping it *actually* gets resolved in the next 24 to 48 hours, as promised. But until then--a poll!

Yes, a poll! Wee! Because my NaNo is woefully behind, but I am making up ground tonight? Although I have not allowed myself to take down my AIM away message in DAYS now and I'm starting to get twitchy.

In any case, once NaNo is done, I will be focusing on my holiday fic exchanges, namely yuletide and jbbs. Anyway, to that end, I got to thinking. Because I celebrate Christmas and it is my favorite holiday ever, I tend to think of them as Christmas gift exchanges, which I know there has been an effort to change, and I am more than okay with that. Not everyone celebrates Christmas. And not everyone who celebrates Christmas likes stories about Christmas.

So--my poll! If you are participating in a holiday fic exchange, do you have a preference as to whether or not the fic you receive be a holiday fic? For example, I know I don't mind a good fic set on or near Christmas with all the Christmas trimmings. They make me smile. I also like fics that incorporate Hanukkah if that is what the characters celebrate. New Year's is also awesome. But not everyone likes those things.

So! Poll time, please. And please, please elaborate in comments, particularly if you like things other than Christmas--I am very familiar with Christmas traditions but not so much with others. What sort of things would you like to see in your ideal holiday fic? Or does the idea of a holiday fic turn your stomach?
