...Seriously, I'm pissed, Heroes. WTF. Claire goes into a comic book store and the cashier says "You're a girl. We don't get many of you in here." And then is convinced that because she is a hot girl, someone is playing a trick on him. There was something about a lap dance involved, but I was too busy gaping to remember the exact quote.

...What the heck! This is not what I expect from you, show. I am very, very, very unhappy about that.

VERY. I have liked you! Fwah! Never mind that Sylar is evil and stupid again and apparently has a mini-me, and I hate that. Never mind that I hate what is happening with the Petrellis. I was okay with these things, because I had some faith that things would turn out.

But I am disappointed, show. Very disappointed.

Edit: Okay, some more thoughts. I know you are not always a great show where women are concerned. I have seen every episode, watched every season. You have many awesome women, who do awesome things.

...Well, you did. You've killed Niki/Jessica, and replaced her with Tracy--I give up on that. Angela Petrelli is awesome! ...Why is there not more of her? Claire and Sandra Bennet are awesome. But Mr. Bennett is stupid sometimes. Daphne--I'm not ready to believe what happened actually happened, and I'm not discussing it yet.

But erg. That is not something anyone would say in a comic book store. Not someone who works in one, at least not in any one that I have ever been in.

::le sigh::

Yeah, I get that. . .still, I mean, I've been in comic shops that obviously don't get a lot of girls in there. The stereotype does exist for a reason. But on the other hand, 'Heroes' could be trying to do something original rather than perpetuate that idea. I think it goes with their love/hate with the comics industry (probably more hate since Loeb got canned).

That does make sense. I guess I've been lucky--I've never had that feeling in a comic shop, but then, we don't have very many around here. I can think of two that are independently owned and one that is part of a chain, and those are the only ones I know of at all. (Not counting out of state ones--I've also been in an awesome one in Massachusetts.) In any case, I've never felt judged in one, or been talked down to--if anything, it's been assumed I know more than I actually do.

...Maybe I just look like a comic geek. ;)
