Yeah, LJ, it's only 8:30 EST. Not 10, PST. Don't go all crazy on me yet! (It's not letting me comment!!!)

Had a lovely dinner with my mother and brother tonight. Can't remember the last time we sat down as a family and had a nice conversation... and we got to talk about his break up with his girlfriend of 2 years, which is the first time *I've* broached the subject with him. He seems good. Which is *great,* seeing how devastated he had been... and he's sure that if they get back together in the future, she'll have to do some changing before he takes her back. This is good. She definitely walked all over him.

Anyway, it was just nice to spend some time with him and Mom and have everything be peaceful and happy and he and I had a good talk in the car on the way to meet Mom. So I'm feeling good about that tonight.

But, dude, I have fic ideas. This makes me happy.

Also, had a random thought in the car driving home this afternoon. I was listening to a song I got from [livejournal.com profile] thistlerose's Frankenstein mix, and she listed it as her Eowyn song, and I agree. It is Eowyn's song.

But that got me thinking about Eowyn and what a kick-ass character she is. And that led me to thinking about Faramir and their relationship and how much I love them.

And somehow I got to thinking about the post [livejournal.com profile] minisinoo made about the HP trio and how I just wanted someone to defend Ron/Hermione, because some of the arguments about why that relationship wouldn't work didn't work for me. I don't see Ron the way they did.

BUT my point being, I wonder if there is a parallel--however distant and blurry--between Ron/Hermione and Eowyn/Faramir.

Any thoughts?

I'm just curious as to whether anyone else sees what I *think* I see...
