Well, now that the authors for [livejournal.com profile] yuletide have been revealed, I can finally say a GINORMOUS

THANK YOU

to everyone who enjoyed my story, commented and recced it. I am completely amazed and blown away by the response it received and I can't tell you how much all the comments made me smile. I spent last night responded to every comment that left an email address, and that was quite a few. :) But they all meant a lot to me.

I can now admit to writing Lives by Breaking, which is Narnia. I was really pleased with how it turned out; I'd never written anything in that kind of format before, and I'm *very* happy with the end product.

My recipient wrote something in her Dear Santa letter about really loving the bittersweet feeling of Narnia, and I thought "hmm, I can play with that." I started thinking I'd write about their adjustment to leaving Narnia, but the first segment I wrote wound up being the first segment of the story, about their adjustment to being in Narnia in the first place. Which made me rethink that.

I find Peter and Lucy a *lot* easier for me to write; it's not that I don't like Edmund and Susan, but they're harder for me to get into their heads. As I wrote this, though, I knew I had to include all the Pevensies. I wound up leaving out a few scenes I would have liked to include, but it was leaning very heavily toward being quite Peter-centric. (I know, this is a surprise to you all.)

I was a little worried about the segment involving Lucy and Peter's argument over her cordial, because I had *just* written Queen Lucy's Cordial for the [livejournal.com profile] narniaficathon, but it seemed to work.

My favorite parts are the first and last segments with Lucy and Peter, which should not surprise anyone, but I'm pleased with all of it. Which surprises me; I'm usually my own worst critic. I'm especially happy that everyone seemed to like the sibling dynamics, which is what really draws me to Narnia fic in the first place.

I really had a fun time writing this, and I'm VERY happy with how [livejournal.com profile] yuletide went this year. I am most *definitely* participating again next year! =D (Also, it gave me an opportunity to use one of my favorite poem passages!)

In other news, the Rose Parade is made of win, except for Home and Garden continuing to pop up a screen with ads that take up half the picture. And I don't *care* about Ed Bagley'sreality show, so stop talking about his solar powered oven and tell me about those pretty horses I can hardly see. Argh.

(Also, current word count on the Bruce/Richard fic is 970. I'm surprised how quickly that happened.)

I'm glad I got to beta that story for you, and I was vicariously happy to see how popular it became!

Now adding my "go you!" to the list.
