Eclipse! Hee!

I know, it took forever, but I finally finished Eclipse and it fills me with so much mush and love that it cannot be contained. SERIOUSLY.

I don't know if I usually have OTPs that are *actual* OTPs, but I SO DO for this series. GAH!!! ::loves Edward and Bella SO DAMN MUCH::

zoe_chan finished it the night before I did, so of course we talked about it. ;) Or squealed.

Lady_Sarai: But I am even more convinced that I wish that love triangle did not exist.

zoe_chan: And Alice is still one of my favorite characters.

zoe_chan: But yes, I did love Eclipse. For me, it made up in a lot of ways for the sins of New Moon.
Lady_Sarai: although I got slightly irritated with Bella at points. and who knows why, but irritated with myself for being irritated with her :-P heh.
Lady_Sarai: yes.
zoe_chan: I didn't like the triangleness of the love
zoe_chan: But I loved just about everything else
Lady_Sarai: no. also her kneejerk aversion to being engaged. but I kept reminding myself that she IS only 18. :-P
zoe_chan: I liked Bella realizing what she was giving up with Jacob, though. Go figure. I thought it was good that she saw what *could have been,* if she decided to be human and grow up.
Lady_Sarai: yes!
zoe_chan: The image of the little kids running off into the woods and disappearing was powerful for me.
zoe_chan: Maybe because that--for me, like for Rosalie--would be the thing I would not want to give up about being human.
Lady_Sarai: yes, me too
Lady_Sarai: and she was so stuck on being a vampire--and that's where I was having issues, because if she didn't want to get *married*? yeeah.
Lady_Sarai: and YES, gah
zoe_chan: And I agree about the engagement thing
Lady_Sarai: but I did like how she explained it to Edward, about not being "that girl."
zoe_chan: You want to be a *vampire* but not marry the man you love?
Lady_Sarai: yes!
zoe_chan: DITTO
zoe_chan: It makes sense from that perspective
zoe_chan: And I liked Edward's response, too, about being *that boy*
Lady_Sarai: and also, Edward wanting to hold off on having sex? I really loved that. it made sense, especially given the way HE was raised, in his time period.
Lady_Sarai: YES.

Lady_Sarai: that whole chapter, when they renegotiated things and he proposed and all that? had me a puddle of goo.

zoe_chan: Also--I totally knew the "crystal" for Bella's bracelet was a diamond. Edward was *much* too blase about it

Lady_Sarai: he really was.

Lady_Sarai: yes, although I think the engagement ring threw her off? that and she was trying to seduce him. ;)
zoe_chan: You may be right

zoe_chan: And there were several points where--like you--I went, Oh *Tim.* about Edward.
Lady_Sarai: YES!!!
Lady_Sarai: I have no idea WHY but Edward was striking me as so very Timmish through the whole thing. (It's possible I'm just OBSESSED these days, BUT)
zoe_chan: That may be my problem as well.
zoe_chan: But he *is* a bit
Lady_Sarai: hehe--it's not a *bad* problem to have. ;) and he is, yes.

In other words--PILE OF GOO. Gah.

For as much as New Moon stressed me out and makes me ache, Eclipse fixes it. At least as far as Edward/Bella go--Jacob frustrates and annoys me, sadly. Because pushing himself on Bella? I do not approve.

And the "Tim" we were referring to would be Tim Drake, yes. If Edward were a character in the DCU, he would be Robin. ;) Except, you know--a vampire.

I did indeed love this book.
