American Idol, what was that?

lady_saraiSo--today I am feeling better. It wasn't a terrific day at school and I had the beginnings of a headache when I was driving home. By the time I was home and had dinner, it was a full blown lie-down-with-the-lights-out-and-something-over-your-eyes migraine. =P Which--I did. And slept for two hours and it was good. Also, it did not snow like they predicted and the sun was out, and that was good. I have missed the sun.

Oh lord, why am I investing time to watch the American Idol results show? This is an hour I will never get back. First there is the Recap Which Lasts Half The Show, then there is the Horrible Group Commercial, and of course let's not forget the Group Song.
Oh, let's not forget the horridly obvious cross-promotion with Horton Hears a Who (which, btw, as a Dr. Suess fan, I am mildly horrified and offended by--based solely on the commercials), which involved JIM CAREY. >_< God help me, I tried to watch American Idol and got Jim Carey.
But when they have random people *calling in* to ask questions of judges and contestants? Wow, completely asinine. And now I am forced to listen to Katharine McPhee sing--I thought we were rid of her.
Also, making everyone sing when you don't know who is leaving yet? What is the point there? Oh, wait, taking up time. Because it takes a whole hour to kick someone off. Gah.
OH MY GOD more Jim Carey!! >_< ::tweaks:: Go away! (Also, if you let America vote--Jim Carey will not win the votes, I am just saying.)
Also, I think Kristy should have gone home before this guy, although he really didn't do great either. And one more thing--the song they are playing, "Celebrate Me Home"? I think of as a Christmas song. Why is it the "goodbye" song? Weird.

On an up note, seriously--I may be in love with David Cook after last night. He sang Eleanor Rigby and it was ridiculously awesome. Witness!!

It might not hurt that Eleanor Rigby is one of my all-time favorite songs ever. Really. I am also irked because they keep telling me I can buy these American Idol songs on iTunes so I went to look--and they are videos. You cannot buy them just as *songs.* Videos are useless to me.
